How a Fantasy Nerd Became a Travel Advisor

Look, I’ll be honest, I didn’t become a fantasy travel advisor because I wanted to book generic beach vacations. I became one because I was that person who spent hours researching how to visit every single Lord of the Rings filming location in New Zealand, mapping out haunted castles across Europe, and figuring out the best way to experience Hogwarts (okay, fine, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour).

After visiting 64 countries and living overseas for over 10 years, I realized something: planning fantasy-themed travel is complicated. Most travel advisors don’t get it. They don’t understand why you need more time in Hobbiton or why a castle tour isn’t complete without the ghost stories.

So I created Flights & Fables, a travel agency for people who want their vacations to feel like quests, not just trips.

Why Work With a Fantasy Travel Advisor?

I Actually Get It When you tell me you want to walk through Middle-earth, explore Dracula’s castle, or trace the steps of the Starks in Northern Ireland, I don’t just nod politely. I geek out with you. Because I’ve been there, done that, and have the photos (and probably too many souvenir swords) to prove it.

I’ve Done the Homework! 63 countries isn’t just a number, it’s years of scouting locations, testing tours, and figuring out which experiences are worth your time and money. I know which Lord of the Rings tours let you linger at Hobbiton versus rushing you through. I know the best time to visit Scotland’s highlands for that moody Outlander vibe. I know which European castles actually deliver on the Gothic atmosphere.

I Design Around YOU! Cookie-cutter itineraries? Not here. Every trip I plan is fully personalized around your interests, pace, and budget. Whether you want a luxury river cruise through Viking territories or a budget-friendly castle-hopping adventure, I’ll make it happen.

Where I Can Take You

New Zealand: Lord of the Rings filming locations, Hobbiton, dramatic fjords, and epic mountain landscapes

Europe: Game of Thrones sites, haunted castles, vampire lore, medieval history, Gothic romance

Scotland & Ireland: Outlander locations, misty highlands, Edinburgh’s underground vaults, standing stones, Leap Castle

Japan: Anime and Studio Ghibli sites, ancient temples, samurai history, feudal castles

River Cruises: Viking, AMAWaterways, Avalon and other prefered companies sailings with pre/post-cruise extensions

I also partner with premium travel suppliers like CIE Tours, Globus, and others to create seamless, high-quality experiences.
